ISIS Praises Orlando Shooter as ‘Soldier of Caliphate in America’

“The Islamic State is praising the man who carried out the deadliest terrorist shooting on American soil, calling him ‘one of the soldiers of the caliphate in America.’ Omar Mateen, 29, shot and killed at least 49 people Sunday at a gay night club, claiming he did it for ISIS. ‘This is an open investigation,’ President Barack Obama stressed. ‘We have reached no definitive judgment on the precise motivations of the killer. The FBI is appropriately investigating this as an act of terrorism.’

Mateen’s ex-wife, Sitora Yusifiy, describes him as abusive and bipolar and says she has had no contact with him for seven years. ‘In the beginning he was a normal being that cared about family, loved to joke, loved to have fun,’ she recalled. ‘But a few months after we were married I saw that he was bipolar and he would get mad out of nowhere. When he would get in his tempers, he would express hate toward things. Toward everything,’ Yusifiy said. ‘In the moments you would see his emotional instability and he would turn totally different.’ Mateen worked as a security guard at G4S, which bills itself as the leading U.S. security company. He legally purchased at least two firearms within the last week or so.”

The Biggest Threat to America – And it’s Not Climate Change

“Imagine one day your electricity suddenly goes out, your gadgets stop working, and cars come to a standstill on the roads. And what if the power grid remained dark for months or even years, resulting in millions of deaths across America?

That’s the nightmare scenario many experts worry could become reality if an electromagnetic pulse bomb, or EMP, was detonated a hundred miles or so above the earth, right over North America. An EMP would knock out the power grid and any electronics that use computer chips. Who could attack us that way? In February of this year, North Korea announced it launched a weather satellite. It was a move the United States and other nations quickly condemned as an attempt to further develop long-range missile capability.

Some speculate the North Korea already possesses weapons designed to emit high levels of electronic-frying gamma rays, rather than create a big explosion. Despite what some see as a real and present danger, the Obama administration appears indifferent to the threat, focusing instead on what it deems the biggest problem we face: manmade climate change. Larry Bell, professor of architecture and space architecture at the University of Houston, has written extensively on what he calls the global warming ‘hoax.’”

House Erupts Into Shouting After Moment Of Silence For Orlando

“House Democrats staged protests Monday evening in response to a moment of silence on the floor to remember the victims of a mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando, the deadliest in American history. After Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) led the House in the moment of silence in honor of the 49 people who died in the massacre on Sunday, the chamber erupted into shouting as Democrats expressed frustration over the lack of votes to restrict guns after repeated mass shootings.

‘Where’s the bill?’ Democrats chanted. ‘Show some respect!’ other Democrats shouted. Some lawmakers walked out of the House chamber before the moment of silence began in protest, including Rep. Jim Himes (D-Conn.). Earlier in the day, Himes declared he would not participate in any more moments of silence as a form of protest over the lack of legislative responses to mass shootings. ‘The fact is that a moment of silence is an act of respect, and we supported that. But it is a not a license to do nothing,’ House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) told reporters off the House floor afterward.

‘Members have just had enough of having one minute, a moment of silence on the floor, and then take no action,’ she said. After the moment of silence ended, Assistant Minority Leader James Clyburn (D-S.C.) tried to seek recognition, a request Ryan denied. Clyburn told reporters that he wanted to speak about the upcoming anniversary — this Friday — of the shooting at a historically black church in his district a year ago in Charleston, S.C. “I think that we have some appalling silence taking place in this body when we ought to be responding,” Clyburn said.

Pelosi chided Ryan for denying Clyburn recognition, calling his move ‘really disrespectful.’ Democratic leaders said they want votes on three specific bills: legislation to close the so-called Charleston loophole, which allowed the shooter in that case to buy a gun after three days even though a background check was not completed; prevent people who are on the FBI’s no-fly list from buying guns; and prohibit anyone convicted of a hate crime from purchasing firearms. It’s not the first time Democrats have staged protests in response to a moment of silence after a mass shooting, though it is the first in recent memory sanctioned by their leadership.”

A Tale of Two Candidates: Clinton, Trump Offer Very Different Reactions to Orlando Attack

“Sunday, Americans got a brief glimpse of how the two parties’ presidential nominees-in-waiting would react to Islamic terrorism, if they win the November general election. Not surprisingly, Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton offered two very different responses to the apparent Islamist attack in Orlando. And as a result, the situation is likely to have a profound impact on the rest of the election cycle. Clinton said she joined Americans in praying for the victims of the attack, as well as their families and the first responders. She was quick to call it an “act of terror,” but like President Obama, struggled to discuss the then-obvious ISIS connections. “Law enforcement and intelligence agencies are hard at work, and we will learn more in the hours and days ahead,” she said. “For now, we can say for certain that we need to redouble our efforts to defend our country from threats at home and abroad. That means defeating international terror groups, working with allies and partners to go after them wherever they are, countering their attempts to recruit people here and everywhere, and hardening our defenses at home. It also means refusing to be intimidated and staying true to our values.”

Trump, on the other hand, quickly pointed out the Islamist terror connection. He also called it “disgraceful” that Democrats refused to utter the words “radical Islam,” saying President Obama should resign and Hillary Clinton should drop out of the presidential race as a result. “It was the worst terrorist attack on our soil since 9/11, and the second of its kind in six months,” he said. “My deepest sympathy and support goes out to the victims, the wounded and their families. In his remarks today, President Obama disgracefully refused to even say the words ‘Radical Islam.’ For that reason alone, he should step down. If Hillary Clinton, after this attack, still cannot say the two words ‘Radical Islam’ she should get out of this race for the presidency. If we do not get tough and smart real fast, we are not going to have a country anymore. Because our leaders are weak, I said this was going to happen—and it is only going to get worse. I am trying to save lives and prevent the next terrorist attack. We can’t afford to be politically correct anymore.”

Prayer Targets:

  • Pray for God’s intervention in the political situation of our nation – that God will raise the right president, a leader who will cause our nation to return to God’s ways and His Word.
  • Pray for God’s people to pray and vote for the right candidate, as well as for the rest of the American electorate to make the right choice.
  • Pray for God’s righteousness to prevail in all the election proceedings, in all the states and for all position levels.

NYC Tells Men It’s OK to Go Into Women’s Bathrooms in Citywide Ad Campaign

“New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has launched America’s first government-sponsored citywide ad campaign that encourages residents who are men according to their birth sex to go into women’s restrooms. The ads, which read: ‘Use the restroom consistent with who you are. Look past pink and blue,’ are set to appear in subway cars, bus stops, and phone booths, among other places throughout the city. “No one deserves to be denied access to bathrooms or discriminated against for being who they are. Every New Yorker has the legal right to use the bathroom consistent with their gender identity, no questions asked — and these powerful ads affirm this right,” de Blasio said in a statement announcing the campaign.

‘New York City has long been a leader in the fight for LGBTQ equality, and these ads are further evidence of the city’s unwavering support of our diverse communities. While other cities and states are legislating intolerance and taking away individuals’ right to use bathrooms consistent with their gender identity, we are proudly standing with our transgender and gender non-conforming New Yorkers.’ The Daily Caller reported on Monday that a spokesman for the city said ‘NYC is spending $265,000 on the ad campaign.’

Reuters noted that the mayor has been one of President Obama’s strongest allies when it comes to the bathroom debate, and in March signed an executive order allowing people to go into whichever bathroom they want ‘in any city-owned building without being asked for identification by employees.’ De Blasio’s statement adds that the ad campaign kicks off LGBT pride month, and says that it is in response to “recent national rhetoric threatening trans peoples’ access to public spaces.” The ad campaign follows Obama’s directive to public schools in May, demanding they allow students to go into the bathrooms of the gender they identify with on any given day, instead of facilities that match their birth sex. Obama further threatened to cut off federal funding from schools that do not comply.”

Prayer Targets:

  • Pray for God’s protection for all our women and children, as sex predators may take advantage of this ruling that permits men to use whatever bathroom that matches the gender they identity with.
  • Pray for God’s intervention in restoring biblical mindsets and lifestyles in our society.
  • Pray for God’s transforming love to reach the LGBT communities through His people.

Praise Report: Church Shows Compassion, Tears for Orlando Community Rocked by Violence

“As the nation mourns the loss of 49 people in the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history, Christians in Orlando are reaching out to provide support. First Baptist Church of Orlando is holding a citywide prayer service Tuesday, June 14 at 7 p.m. The church is using the hashtag #LoveOrlando to spread the message across social media.

‘It’s a time to show the love of Christ; it’s time to step up and be his arms and his hands to wrap up these families and to wrap up this community in the love of Jesus,’ Dr. David Uth, senior pastor at First Baptist Orlando, told CBN News. ‘And I believe the body of Christ is called upon now to demonstrate his love for all people. One of our core values is all people matter to God, and they matter to us.’

Uth believes it’s a time for churches to reach out to the local LGBT community. ‘I think that gives this a backdrop that I believe the love of Christ will shine even brighter, and I hope that that’s what is communicated and that’s what comes from the body of Christ during these days,’ he said. First Baptist is a 14,000-member congregation, so it’s equipped to welcome large numbers of a grieving community trying to move forward after being victimized by terrorism.

‘It will be an evening to pray for the community and certainly the families of the victims,’ Uth said, referring to Tuesday’s prayer service. ‘But also we are remembering Christina Grimmie and her family because she was the one killed that began the weekend of violence here in Orlando. And so we don’t want to leave her out because she was a strong believer, and her family will be here with us tomorrow night as well,’ he said. A gunman shot and killed the 22-year-old former finalist of NBC’s ‘The Voice’ at a Florida concert venue before killing himself during a struggle with Grimmie’s brother. Grimmie died early Saturday morning. Uth told CBN News that Sunday morning services at First Baptist were filled with emotion as members of the congregation tried to process the violence and were called to pray.

‘As the day progressed, I tell you I cried; man, I stood there and wept in front of our people,” Uth shared. “And there was a lot of emotion that built up, and I was so thankful that I sensed it from our people. Because the Scripture calls us to weep with those who weep and calls us to compassion and calls us to care, and I just feel like… as the morning went on, I saw that as it really began to rise up in our people. And I saw great compassion, and as a result, there have been a lot of things our people have done already to minister to folks,’ he said.”
